Second City College Connection: April Update

With the college lacrosse season in full swing, a number of Second City coaches are competing on the fields and on the sidelines for a number of colleges. We wanted to catch everyone up on the spring season's for all of Second City's coaches competing at the NCAA level.

Benedictine University

SC Connection: Trey Mobley, Nic Perkins, Evan Kilbane, Colin Domek, Chris Button, Jack Moran, Mateo Salceda

Benedictine is off to a great start to their season. Sitting at 6-2 and coming off a 22-5 victory over regional rival Concordia Chicago, the Eagles are feeling good. SC Coaches Domek and Perkins anchor the Eagles on offense, sitting at #1 and #2 on the team in points respectively. The Eagles' great start has also included a great effort by Coach Kilbane in net who is making saves at a 52% clip to start the year. In the middle of the field, Coach Salceda and Mobley have combined for 81 ground balls and combine for a vicious combination on face-offs.

Lafayette College

SC Connection: Connor Freeman, Jacob Freeman

The month of March saw two Second City coaches record their first points on the Division 1 level. Both Connor and Jacob are seeing big minutes at the top of Lafayette's midfield line and are helping build one of the youngest programs in Division 1.

Lynchburg University

SC Connection: Jack Speers

Lynchburg University currently sits at #4 in the nation at the D3 level. Jack Speers is a big reason why. Speers' most exciting moment was scoring late in the fourth quarter in Lynchburg's win over then #1 Salisbury on March 6th. Speers has been a solid contributor for a Lynchburg squad that has their sights set squarely on Championship Weekend.

Rhodes College

SC Connection: Mason Ade

Rhodes has recovered from an 0-2 start to the season and have since won 3 games in a row. Coach Ade scored his first NCAA goal on March 21st on a beautiful left handed rip. We will be keeping a close eye as Coach Ade continues to establish himself as a contributor on the Rhodes squad.

That concludes our April College Connection update. We can't wait to see how all of our coaches continue to elevate as the season goes on!
